welcome and congrats on the vette
we have a group here in Mountain and Prairie that gets together for some cruises thru the mountains on occasion. I'm hoping the one last weekend wont be the last this year. Most of us are from the Denver area but i believe there are a few from the springs that make it up.

Welcome to the family.. Congrats on getting a great Vette... Lots of people on the forum from the Springs.
You are always welcome to run with us up here in Denver. You just missed a nice run this last weekend and we had 3 Vettes from the Springs join us.
I was stationed out there a few years ago. i can't help with a club as I just tagged along with who ever was doing stuff. I can tell you there is a pretty cool place down I-25 going to Pueblo they can point you in a good direction and have activities there. Good luck and welcome to the community.
Almost forgot it is out of season and like I said it has been a few years but there is also the corvette challenge up at Bandimere Speedway in Denver, its pretty cool.
There are two main Corvette clubs in the Springs. The Colorado Springs Corvette Club. They have meetings, officers, bylaws, etc. They are a great group and do several drives, events, etc. http://www.coloradospringscorvetteclub.org/
The "other" club is the Rocky Mountain Corvette Social Club. No meetings, no officers, no dues. There are drives and dines. Group participation is spurred by email. If you want to suggest something, send an email to the group and see who wants to attend. http://www.rmcsc.org/ Additionally, questions can be asked and answered via email. Even 'non-Corvette' questions are allowed. This group is also made up of a great bunch.

actually went to my first meeting with colorado springs corvette club on thursday last week and definitly won't be going back! there was not 1 single word mentioned about corvettes except for myself and my friend who also went when we were asked to describe our cars.
the entire 1 hour meeting was all about charitys who wants donations who got donations and who they wanted to elect to donate to. i am not necessarly against donations but if i wanted to go to a donation meeting i would have reserved an hour for that. i thought i was going to a corvette meeting where people talk about and share things about corvettes.
they did mention get togethers at peoples garages to hang out and socialize. the most fun part of the meeting was talking about cars at dinner at the elephant bar.
beyond that i am not really sure why they call it a corvette meeting i was 1 of 2 out of about 30 people that drove a corvette to the meeting. it was a cold night but perfectly acceptable to drive to the meeting.
you have to go to 3 meetings to get elected in and to my understanding no one ever got turned down in the past so i wasnt sure why they had to vote in the first place!
anyway ran into Dan from cannon city a few days ago at the mall, gave me his card and signed up on the rocky mountain corvette social club today actually.
my vision of a club was a group of people who actually drive, show off, talk about and socialize about corvettes. looks like about 240 members and more than 1/2 look to be from the springs area.
as you said no fee, no officers, no meetings just a group of people who like vettes!
i have been in 2 different motorcycle clubs who are very similar, no rules no meetings no crap just a bunch of folks that like to ride and see the beauty of colorado. great friends, great fun and fun times doing rides, picnics, get togethers, tech sessions and so on.
You just went at the business time of year. The NCCC activities don't really start up until about March. Although I have never been to a CSCC meeting so couldn't really tell you. Most meetings are for club business, planning events and such, then a social afterwards. I'm not much into club meetings as much as club activities.
Check out http://www.rmrnccc.org for the 2010 events calendar. There is also a list of all the NCCC Corvette Clubs in there as well... As the year progresses more details will be added such as flyers with the event details. You will notice something just about every weekend... Its going to be another busy year.
Also keep in mind, just be because it's clear streets where you are... some of us still have ice & snow on our streets! Spring will have higher turn outs!
Also - you can be part of any club you want no matter where it is as. Like myself (Denver area) and many further south... we are part of TORCA because of how active the club is in all aspects (racing, car shows, rallyes...). You actually don't have to be a member of any club to participate in events. Explore several clubs and find out what they like to focus on then you can always make a decision from there.
If you want to get an idea of all the events, check out the photo section on the TORCA website.
CSCC is a nice group of people come time to get out and drive.
