Default Joined NASA, first day at HPR! I'm hooked!!!

Wow was that a blast Amazing what our cars can do! Great organization, very well run event. That track is outstanding..

If you have never been at High Plains Raceway.... you have to go.. That track has it all, well except shade.

Great way to spend a Sunday, although leaving at 5:30am to get to the track in time to un-pack and make the 7:45 drivers meeting was .

They are doing an event Oct 31-Nov1 and I am hoping the snow stays away long enough so I can participate in that... Anybody interested in joining me?

I'm happy you had a great time.
I told you that HPR was a kick, it beats the heck out of anything I've been on before.
How many laps did you get too run?

I was there and had a blast as well, but was not in my Vette. Still had fun, ran the new daily driver around (hope I didnt' do too much harm to the clutch LOL). It was a little frustrating seeing the Vettes, the Noble, and porches go by so quickly though...

Really hoping to have the Vette back up and running for the end of the month. If not the daily driver should hold up for another weekend LOL.

I assume you were HPDE 1? If so, who was your instructor? Just curious, lots of good guys there.

It was a total blast.. Really liked going all out and not having to worry about tickets or other people coming the other direction.

Had 3 sessions; Two 30 minute sessions and one 35 minute session. However I got 2 bonus sessions as I went out with my instructor. (that was amazing)
Per 30 minute session, I was getting 10-12 laps in depending on traffic.

You will have to join me for the session Oct31/Nov1. Just say NO to snow!!

Yep I was HPDE 1.. Mike P. was my instructor. Great guy, he had a silver Porsche on the track.. He really liked Vettes and has gone to Spring Mountain several times..

Hope you get your Vette running soon so you can use it on the track.

The Caymen S? I don't know him well, but he is fast. He was a blur going by me, I was one of the speed bumps in that class I'm sure you saw me. I was one of the gray Mini Coopers out there.

Well if I were to post his name correctly you might know him(which I now fixed).

But yes in the Silver Caymen S and yes he can drive, he just ate up that track like it was nothing. I was amazed... As a passenger in his car, lots of cars were bumps and blurs when he was driving He was just that fast...

I bet a Mini would be so much fun on that track... Yea, the Vettes would scream by the Mini's on the straights, but dang those Mini's are they fast in the corners..

The Mini was fun, but street tires kind of limit the fun. Still, a lot of fun

Glad you liked the time with NASA, I started my HPDE experience with them a couple of years ago. And, they have taught me a lot and make some good friends. They also run a good program, I love the feed back and the approach that they are teaching guys they will race with.

Can't wait for the next event!

I was out there on Friday afternoon and had a blast. Can't beat it for $90!

Glad you had fun with NASA. Getting proper instruction when first entering this hobby is important to both yourself and your fellow drivers.

Glad you enjoyed it - you're hooked now Right now I'm planning to do Oct. 31/Nov.1 and have placed an order for fair weather.

Yeah, Mike is a good guy and a great driver. That Cayman S is no slouch either. A couple of months ago Mike had his Audi R8 out at HPR for a lapping day - that car was pretty quick too!
