We will be heading out of Denver on Wed, Aug. 5th after work.
Tech on Thurs (golf after, plus some driving of the course), Shootout on Friday, and race on Sat.
We'll be staying in Cozad, NE, about 40 minutes from Arnold.
For anyone interested, the shootout is on par with the Texas Mile- speeds of over 200 will happen.
The race is a lower speed event than the ones in NV and TX, but still pretty darn fun. We'll be running the 120mph average class, the highest timed class outside of Unlimited.
If you're going, chime in, and maybe we will see you on the road!
Here we are last year, coming across the finish line, at 140:
I will be there, #311. This will be my first year so I signed up for the 90mph class. I also plan to do the 1/2 mile and the new 1/4 mile grudge match .
Well i had plans of attending but weather and farming is not allowing me plus the car being down so you guys have a great time i will be cheering you on from a combine cab
I don't know how we placed. We were probably more than 5 seconds off- took too much time off on the return leg- so we headed out and back to Colorado after the race.
I had a blast! I managed 151mph in the 1/2 mile which I thought was pretty good considering my car just has a filter and tune. We ran in the 95mph class and I think did pretty well but are still waiting on results, we also left before the dance. My Garmin average speed was 95.0 both there and back and according to the stop watch our total time was 1.7 seconds slow. Next year if i get in I'd like to try the 110mph class.
If you have your entry fee and all paperwork ready for the first monday that they accept entries (I think it is around Oct 15th, but do not hold me to that), then you should have no problem getting in. I have never been denied when I signed up at the first available time. But if you delay at all, you will lose out, as it is usually full within a few weeks of the application opening date.

Check the SORC board, and stay on it. My entry was 3 days after registration opened up this year, I was waitlisted, and eventually got in.
Best to have your entry in on the very first day.
Or............just man up and go really fast at Big Bend ORR.
Yes it's best to send your entry in on the first avaible day for post mark to get in for sure anytime after that and you may be on the list. I have been on the list the last 2 years but have managed to get in. but don't take the chance. This past year i was pretty close to not getting in.
Not sure if i will sign up for next year since i don't know whats going on with my car.
