    I have owned my 68 coupe since 1972 and started a frame on restoration of every component of this car in August 1995 and finished in September 2005; 10 long years. Will be driven on weekends and sunny days. Car has L79 motor, 4 speed, A/C, power windows, power brakes, rear window defogger, telescope wheel, Am/FM Stereo, factory tinted glass.

    Problem solved.
    It turned out to be the ECT (Electronic Coolant Temp) sensor.
    Repalced it and car is perfect again.
