I saw your name on the Corvette Forum and
you were given high praise for your knowledge of
700r trannys. I would like your expert opinion on a
problem I am havibg with the 700r

I just installed in a 66 vette and it seems to lock and unlock
in 4 th gear. I checked the TV cable and it seems right. I
guess it couldd be a bad selinod. What do you think about me just
unhooking the plug at the transmission?

Larry Burroughs here. I'm the guy that bought Sami's 85 and drove it back to Galveston, Tx. We just got hit by hurricane Ike and everything got pretty tore up. I evacuated with my dog, kodi and the vette. I've been having a problem with the vette. It seems to jump timing every once in awhile. I think the problem is the distributor because the shaft seems to have to much play. I want to replace it but don't know what to buy. Sami listed it as an 85 distributor with Hyper Tech rotor,cap, & coil. Can you recommend a replacement unit? I figured to buy a complete unit as the cap and rotor look pretty worn. I don't think it uses a vacumn advance, so I guess it is mechanical and I think it has an electronic connection for the tach. Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Also if you have a suggestion where to buy and their model number for the unit, that would be great : ) Also have you heard anything from Sami? I haven't talked to him in a long time. Is he still in Canada? Thanks and best regards.
