    Hi Jim,
I had checked my rockers about a month ago and everything was fine. It just didn't sound right so I pulled the covers again. You know your own car and just get that bad feeling. I was quite surprised to find that the end cap didn't wear through but actually cracked all the way around the press line and fell off. The shaft dropped down and the bearings piled up at the top but I caught it before it did any damage. If I had wound this thing up I would have lost the motor. I bought a set of new 08 takeoffs from a forum member for a hundred bucks about a year ago "just in case" and replaced them all. GM says to replace the failed rocker. All other LS series engines ? All rockers are to be replaced. Go figure... I was very surprised to see the end cap sitting in the head as I had checked it less than 100 miles before.
    Anyway, that's my story.
    Take care Jim!
    Grant
