- I grew up in the 70's, so to me, a Corvette was the C3. NOTHING else looked like it. My head would turn every time one passed by on the road. The astronauts drove them. I longed for a Hot Wheels model, but never got one because the toy store was always out of them. I would linger on the magazine ads of them and say to myself "Someday, someday ..."
