Thanks kohl. I bought my 79 L-82 new in 79. The first thing I did was to gut the cat and enlarge the fuel filler to accept leaded gas nozzle. Maybe I'll locate a discarded 3" factory X pipe, gut it, and keep my X pipe all original.
So reworking the factory heads is better than buying aftermarket heads? I'm new to the LS engine. I have an LS engine in my 300,000 mile 2002 GMC pickup. How come Chevy didn't use those valve guides?
