Hi Bob,
A picture would help. Probably best to post your question in the paint and body section. It sounds like some of the resin has vacated the fiberglass strands. Soda blasting is always a touchy subject, some like it, some don't. Before anything, the soda needs to be neutralized I think. Not sure what is best, but I think warm water and dawn dish detergent. Then maybe brush some resin into the voids or gelcoat. Good luck.
Hello Ken, Robert Pruitt here. Excellent job on the restomod. I would like to ask a few guestions on paint prep. I'm soda blasting my 61 body now. As I'm blasting small trails are in some of the glass that resemble termite paths. Either it is erosion where there were cracks in the multiple layers of paint and the soda ate some glass away before I could get all of the paint off or blowing the glass threads out that are barely below the surface. What should I do at this point? Seal the body with epoxy primer and do the body work and then reprime after body work? Or should I consider gel coat?
Thanks
