- Here in little town rural Mississippi, back in the day, anyone who could see over the steering wheel could drive and would drive, at the age of 13 my dad traded a 1980 green dodge truck even for a 1969 Corvette Stingray with a slung rod, one shade tree mechanic and a few weeks later my dad tossed me the keys! I was lucky enough to have kept it for a whole year and decided i wanted a newer car so dad sold it for $4,200 bucks to a guy in Shaw Ms and bought me a 1979 Datsun 280zx, and for a solid 5
