Thank you for the timely information. Yes the dealer is honoring the air bag recall and seat recall on my Salvage Car. They did not want to fix the other issues such as non operable power steering, check engine light etc as I had the dash apart and replaced the wind shield pillar posts. They used the excuse of the peeled back antenna wires. Now after working on the air bag recall, there is no communication to the system so they are trying to figure it out. No warranty on other items but I will pay as necessary. The car sat with the hood off and windshield broken for a period after the accident.

I have a 2000 FRC that leaked in the same area. I used a 3M product I bought at NAPA for $23 3 years ago. Product is 3M Strip-Calk PART No. 051135.-08578 (Black). It looks and feels like licorice flavored chewing gum if left unrefrigerated. Take your time, remove weather stripping and note which fasteners go where. Less is better as far as thickness, say 1/8 inch or so. Be careful not to tear the weather stripping. Took me about three hours but I did both sides. Which is exactly why I like doing these blogs. I know I also get many ideas from other peoples insanity.
I'm not sure I'm your guy on the 700r however, as I've never used one in anything. I'm a three pedal guy. I do know that any auto is going to be much bigger than a T-10 however, so if you're hoping not to cut things, research is in order. so many guys use the 700r that I'll bet you could google "700r dimensions" or something similar, and get plenty of useful information.
