As for the gearing issues, Now that I have my first gear back again, its fast with the 2:73's. Just needs another 100hp. Heads & Cam & Tune.

Some scumbag stole my 03' Sierra Denali on my birthday 6-11-11. Insurance helped but lost out big time on all the mods and work. FTW. But just got a 06' Sierra Denali with an LQ9, will be turboing it and heads/cam/LT headers.

Hi there. Fred here. I'm not ignoring your, but by computer is not letting me accept friends. Ive kept it open, and try to okay it every week or so, but no luck as yet. Ive been limping this piece of shit computer along, and it may take buying a new one to fix the problem. Half the time it won't let me log on to the forum. Anyway, just saying hi! Fred

From my reading I have decided that the LPE 211 or TPIS Super L98 cam is what you want if you are running long tube runners on an L98 with the stock heads. Going to do the 3.54's, 2800 TC, dart heads, and cam install all at once.

It flat out makes me angry, when people have to be smart asses on the forums and say wow, this is an old thread... plus they don't have a life time membership, lol. Step your game up and buy a real membership. Clogging up the bandwidth of the forums with whack comedy. The admins don't like the wannabe funny guy crap. I appreciate all my friends on here and the people who leave educational post.

I think you will be happy with the 3.54's. They are not radical but when you get on the gas; you can feel the pull as you gain rpm. Its a nice feel and a perfect add on for the L98 engine.
    Enjoy....

The short forms can be a killer to myself also. Seat Of The Pants (SOTP) feel. With the 3.54's; Im running abot 300 rpm more between 60-70 mph.Ive run about 110 mph. with the 3.54's and had more to go. YES you will eat up about 1.5 mpg when running hard but my Vette is not a daily cruiser. After reading your requirements; 3.07's may be the way to go in your case. The 3.54's %age wise are about 29.6% more in ratio to the 2.73's while the 3.07's will only be 12.5 % so you may not feel that much of a difference. Most that go to 3.07's have the 2.59's see a 18.5% ratio so that may be why they notice the difference. The 3.54's come on quite nice but not radical. They are a nice steady pull. I chose them finally not only for the pull factor but the 6 speed M/Tranny L98's run a 3.45 gearing so I felt that it would be fine. Also; my last toy was a 1988 Formula 350 (L98) Firebird that had a 3.27 (Borg Warner) ratio (WS6 suspenion pkge) from the factory.Thats how I made my decision and my driving habits.Since you are talking 383 c.i. motor later then 3.07's are the popular choice.
Decisions...Decisions !!!!!! Have fun and good luck with your build.
