Thank you Sum! I am off to Harbor Freight tomorrow. I have been really dragging my feet on pulling the body off the frame, I'm concerned with what treasure I going to find when I lift the body off...lol

I am pretty sure you have a lock cylinder problem. New ones with keys are readily available. You don't mention what kind of steering column (T&T or standard (non-adjustable) and what year Vette. Changing the lock cylinder is not all that bad. I can supply directions if you need them.

I would really like you to post a question as to how to change the lock cylinder on the Tech part of the Forum. This way, others get the benefit of your question and other people's answers.
