- I recently purchased my ninth Corvette after 55+ years of automobile ownership. My first was a '64 coupe I bought in the fall of '67. Prior to buying my "cherry" '11 GS and following the '64, I owned a '68 roadster with a "lift off" hardtop, a '75 coupe, a '79 coupe, a '81 coupe, a '85 coupe, a '89 coupe, and an '02 coupe. I consider myself a "gearhead" and I'm proud of it.
