I received my Liver transplant in Jan 2018, 8 months ago. I won't bore you with more, but they say it will be two years of recovery, at least. When you stare the Grim Reaper down and flip him off, it kinda changes everything in your life. I have a really weird perspective on things now. I still have the '08 Z06 (I had to fight really hard to keep it in the three years I was forbidden from driving). And I saw you white ZR1, you bastard . I love the 2019 ZR1 and can't wait to see the mid-engine in 2020. But my buying days are over. Adjusting to retirement income. But I just re-did my garage. You have to find things to do when you are forced into permanent disability at 54.

It was so great to hear from you. Here is my current info, please call me next time you guys get to Vegas.

    Scott,
I have been remiss. I saw your message and flagged it, but to be honest this is only the second time I've signed in to CF. That's no excuse, But it's the truth.
Well, I got a lot to tell you. We moved to Vegas in 2013. The insurance rates finally forced us out of the Keys and my wife's Mother went to a facility in CA for her Alzhiemer's (sp). It was taking Ellen 14 hours travel each way to visit her mother. We couldn't afford CA, so we picked Las Vegas. It's getting better, but I still consider Florida home.
I have been real screwed up. I mean like death. Turns out I have a genetic disease called PBC (Primary Billiary Cholangitis). I was undiagnosed for 50+ years. In 2015 my health deteriorated rapidly and we found the PBC when my liver failed. I was accepted in the UCLA transplant program and waited approx 2.5 years for a transplant. The surgeon said I was dying and would have only made it another 8-9 months, tops.

Hi Scott and thanks for the friend request. It was a pleasure meeting you and the rest of the group at Spring Mountain. I wished you could have stayed the third day as it was a blast at the open lapping. While not perfect, I managed to get around the track with the Z and me in one piece. Of course when the instructor was in the car I forgot everything I knew and looked stupid. Once I was on my own again, I was cooking pretty good. What a great time and experience. Enjoy the ZR1. Hey, Scott. Your boy is very handsome. Thanks for the pic. I was gonna congrat you that he got his looks from Yennifer, but there is no doubting that he's a chip of the old block.

I hope you and Yennifer are doing well. Ellen and I are holding our own here in the Keys. We don't get up there a lot, but the next time we do I will call.

    Hey Scott
have you ever experienced wheel hop with your ZR1?
This morning while accelerating from a light I had some serious wheel hop, it stopped when I got off the gas. It was pretty significant.
The roads were somewhat wet, I don't know if this contributed.
    Thanks

    Adam
