Hey Gary, your PM box was full, posting here hoping you see this: I would strongly recommend speaking with my builder, Jim Barth. His handle on here is tpi 421 vette He knows all those engine combos you listed inside and out (the 421 is a popular one he builds) and plenty of other combos as well. Shoot him a pm and pick his brain on it. He's the one that crunched the numbers on parts and what part would work best with the others for my 383. Very well known on here for his knowledge for street and race motors.

    Hey,
This problem started after I left it stored for the winter and forgot to disconnect the battery. When I came back from Florida the battery was completely discharged. I had put a new battery in the car in November of last year. After I charged the battery it started and ran fine. A week later I went to start it and it fired one time and quit. After that the engine would turn over normal but the service engine soon light and battery symbol showed in the display screen. I had a mechanic come over and the car started the first time and ran like a champ. He tuned it up with new wires, cap, rotor, plugs and ran great. Left it set since he tuned it and tried to start it Saturday and the same old deal again, no start. Oil pressure goes up to 40# when cranking. I'm an old time mechanic that worked on muscle cars from the 60's and 70's. This thing has me puzzled.
    Thanks,
    Jim
