- I just this past summer purchased a 08 convertible from Corvettes of Dallas. It is not my first Corvette, but it is my first one in a long time. My first experiences with Corvettes came at the ripe age of 5 when my father purchased a white 59 off the shoreroom floor in Detroit. It was very cool and I loved riding in it from day one. At the time I thought it was sliced bread. Dad sold the 59 in 1963 and went a few years without until he bought a silver 66 convertible with the 390HP 427. Wit
