You're right, it's Gary. I'm sorry I forgot to tell you who I was. To be honest, I've been tossing around for years and years getting a Corvette. I've always wanted one but the timing was never right. I'm finally getting a little closer. I'm mainly interested in a 1999-2001 C5 coupe most likely with under 50,000 miles. I am not a mechanic of any kind, but I've been going to a repair shop in Meford for over 25 years and I know the owner well. He repairs all makes and models. I would probably go with Conte only because I trust him and his cars seem to be in very good condition. Also because he's only 30 minutes away.

The only problem is he's a little higher than some of the others. I was hoping to spend around 15,000, but they seem to be more in the 17 to 19,000 range from what I've seen.

Anyway, I appreciate your help. Hopefully we can meet one of these days. I'm in the Kings Grant section of Marlton. Thanks again...

Its Gary, correct? I remember us messaging back and forth about 6 months ago. You might want to also try Allvette.net. Like Conte's they specialize in low mileage, excellent condition cars. Talk to Rick, and tell him Charlie sent you. Figure out what kind of C5 you want (i.e. coupe, vert, FRC, Z06) and what options you really want. If you want to save so money you can also look at private party sales. What kind of miles or cost are you trying to stay under?

I also would recommend having a shop like ECS inspect the car before you buy.

I live near Greentree and 73.

Yes Medford. Yes me, too. I bought an 87 coupe about six years ago, my first one. Then I came acroos my current 02 coupe in August of 2009. I just liked th c5 so much more, but never thought of buying it until my wife, of all people, talked me into it!
I bought in August of 09 and sold the 87 the next spring. It is such a more refined machine and I love it. As for convertibles, I've never wanted one. I like the coupe with the removable top, almost best of both worlds, I guess. I wouldn't want to steer you away from a vert, though. Some options I have, which are nice to look for,are the heads up display and the performance axle (3:15 gears I believe). I would really recomend having some one knowledgable check it out, because repairs can get expensive. Corvette Paramedics in Mt Holly do inspections if you don't have a good mechanic, unless you do work on your car yourself. (unlike me) I do some minor stuff, but that's it! I would just say take your time until you find the right one and remember, with the economy the way it is now, I would think good deals can be made. I love my Vette, enjoy spending time driving and detailing it and car shows and cruises as well. Actually won 4 trophies this season! Good luck in your search!
