Floyd,I am sorry for the delay in responding back. Is that Rick Bizzoco book still available? I love 68-72's, but 68 and 69 are my favorite, because of the 4 gills. Have you seen my posts,A long time chrome bumper owner speaks, and All four taillights monitored on a 68 ? I am wrong about 68 shifters being shorter. I just found out the later model shifters are taller due to the different center consol and I believed a vette supplier. Although I have been an NCRS member for a very long time, and like things stock looking,My poor driver has been changed from pure original in subtle ways. I will have had it 40 years in July and my wife helped me change the frame and motor. Please read my posts. Thank you for the compliment on the colors of my 68. The interior is the stock color. The original color was polar white in 68. I use to use the 70-82 classic white touch-up paint. But all the new cars have a brighter white and my wife insisted since she is paying for half of the paint job,She wanted a bright white. So we had it painted the 84-2012 vette color called arctic white. Surprisingly, there is another white used but it is slightly a cream color, and I made sure of the paint code number. We both could not be happier with the color. If you ever want to chat,my e-mail is loupalfy@aol.com. Take care,Floyd.

I agree about your stating about functionality, but the fact remains I keep finding out every day the differences in 68 to 69 parts. I mentioned more than one part. The top s.s. header bar is different and doesn't have the four screw holes. The windshield reveal molding has more curve at the ends, and the cast ends are different.I had to grind alot on the 69 ones to get them to fit. Do you know that the 68 front spindle is different? The 4-speed shifter handle is shorter and the muncie and shifter rods are different. The 68 front fresh air grill is different by having two cut-outs and pads for the washer nozzles. It is just mind boggeling the differences. I am curious about the difference in a late 69 distributer shield. I thought that they were all the same. Have a good day, Loup68.
