    Hi Josephf31...

You mentioned on a post awhle back that you had fixed the steering column pivot pin problem using jb weld. I'm having a problem in that area with a 90 that I bought a few weeks back and do not want to tear the column apart to fix it so I'm hopeing you can give me some advice on your technique.

Other than removing the trim piece under the steering column and then removing the two bolts that hold the column to the dash, could you advise what else has to come off so you can place the jb weld on the pivot pins?

I'm assuming you tap the pins in first and then put a small amount of the jb on the outside of the casting and around where the pins edges are visible, just enough to prevent them from backing out again, is that right?

I have not torn mine apart yet so I don't know it the holes in the casting are elongated or not but if they are, dido you also attempt to fill in the area where the hole has been stretched with the jb?

Any advice you can give me is most appreciated.

    John
