Question #2: If you want to buy a part, I suggest you contact people outside of the forum. When you answer in public within a persons WTB thread that you intend to buy their parts, again, its not possible to know if they are intended for commercial use. So, don't make those public posts. Contact them another way.

    Hope this helps, Steve

Regarding phone calls, Ive explained many times why, that forum policy is for Admins and Mods not debate these issues over the phone. When that is done, we cannot prove anything we said or didnt say, and the conversations are often unproductive.

Question 1: its nearly impossible for staff to guess what you might be buying for personal use on a car versus a part that you plan to re-sell or restore and re-sell, so I don't see how you could do that without becoming a forum Supporting Vendor. I don't know any Non Supporting Vendors who restore and sell parts who successfully post Wanted ads.

However, one thing you are missing is this: The rule is that people buying and selling have to be selling their personally used parts. If its not clear whether they are doing that, they could be getting away with something. However in your case, it is different because you have advertised that you sell a number of RESTORED parts, like seat belts, bezels, consoles, etc. Or, you sell NOS parts which obviously have not been used personally. This is why both buying and selling is commercial in your case... if you buy parts, restore them, and sell them, its commercial and is not allowed on the forum unless you are a Supporting Vendor. When you compare that to a friend who sells parts or buys them sometimes, its two different things and have to be evaluated differently. That's why your examples of other members buying and selling is not comparable in your case. Its 2 different activities.

Hello Andy. Im glad you don't want to be banned again, although Ive explained why several times. Ill try again. NOTE: My response to you is "too long" for VMs, so Ill break this up into sections. In the future, please ask your questions by PM, not Visitor Message.

    SECTION #1
Regarding what "you have been told" regarding wanting to buy or post a want ad, your friends are incorrect. They either don't know forum rules on commercial sales or aren't getting all the info.

Regarding your several friends, I asked you to provide the people you think are getting away with something you aren't and I will check each one individually. They may or may not be in conflict with site rules, but Ill look. As I said before, I will not report results to you.
