I do all my own work as well. I did have the bottom end of the OEM L-82 built by Maximum Performance in Bristol RI by Buddy Sousa the owner and only employee of his business. I put the rest of the motor together after the machine work and reinstalled the motor myself in my garage.

Hey I noticed your from RI I am too.Who do you have work on your C3? I typically do all my own work but it’s good to know who else can work on it.

Alan: How much hp/tq did you gain by going to headers from the shorties? I have a similar engine using the 2" RHs. I have the 2.5" RHs on standby. I would like to see the dyno difference between the two. I'm sure LTH is good for 20 hp/tq on yours.

I have Pacesetter Monza Turbos #88-1358 and I do not have a sound clip but they are great-nice soft rumble at idle, moderately aggressive on acceleration and fairly quiet cruising (i have 3.70 gears) but you can definitely hear them. Not obnoxious BUT they are hard to find now and not cheap anymore-I put my pair on for $99 in 1990. Pacesetter still sells them direct for $339. My friends 78 L-82 4 speed like mine has Magna flows and his car is MUCH louder than my Monza Turbos-cambered muffler versus straight through for Magnaflows.

I see you've got Ansa mufflers, you haven't got a sound clip by any chance do you?
