Hey buddy.. Again, thanks for the information.. I have been so excited to have her on the road that I haven't even looked at the paperwork/battery tender I bought.. Your knowledge has me very curious though so I'm going to read up as you suggest and make sure it's a smart charger. Love the idea for the set up with the garage door opener too... Thanks so much for always sharing bro.. Take care!!! -Taryn

When I pull in, right side reach in and grab the disconnect (it has a rubber boot on it so it stays dry) reach up and connect it, press the button. When I want to take the car out again, unclip, hang the wires on the hook and go.

    Works for me.

The charger you have may be perfectly good, look at the docs. The reason I went with the Ctek is that its a smart charger, it looks at the battery, charges it and tests it continually. I will automatically go into a desulphating cycle and condition the battery if it needs it so I liked that feature.

    Good luck with your choice

    Enjoy the ride

Hey T, good to speak to you. Well I wouldn't say we're enjoying it nonstop, but we're getting by

About the charger, I use a Ctek 3000 and no I don't connect it with the clips. I got the aftermarket battery lugs off the rack at the auto parts store (like posts, but for the side) and screwed those into the side spots. The ones I got have a separate screw in the end of the lug that is used to attach the quick disconnect that came with my charger (the Ctek has both one set of clips wired to a quick disconnect and one set of lugs (like rings)wired to a disconnect). I lengthened the wires between the rings and the disconnect and ran them through the fender (no tools just reach in there) and into the side cove. They live in there. I mounted the charger to the ceiling of my garage and plugged it in to the garage door opener outlet and have a hook for the wires that come out of the charger to hang on.

sigh character limit, will send another message with rest

Hey fella! I hope all is well with you... I just recently got my P4 Platinum Diehard.. Thanks to your quality posts as always.. How the retired life has you enjoying yourself nonstop! I was curious what kind of battery tender you use and if you hook it up right to the cables while attached to the battery terminals.. I just bought a tender plus by deltran from orielly's automotive but figured I'd check in with you to get a recommendation and take it back if there is one you favor more. Thanks buddy! Taryn Brent
