Hi: I'm not familiar on how to post a build thread. Maybe you could advise me. Also the links you sent me were of grat help, TKKKKKKKKKs again.
So here is the up date. I have assembled the following: I built a hoist for the body in to my garage, assembled and installed the temp rims/tires, got a c4 frame built, refurbed and reinstalled 95 front and rear hubs's, suspension, differential, installed a upgraded gas tank, bought and temp mounted entire 61 body shell w/doors. I just finnished the replacements of the all rear U joints and replace both hubs and barrings. replaced the 90 oil and put in fresh addetive as per spec. This week am building the eng & trans mountings. Got real nice chromed LS motor mounts from Calif. chassies. I have recieved my, New crate GM LS3 376/480hp (Hot Cam) and 4LR-85E trans. w/controlers. I am useing a payr relpica eng/trans for the mounting fittings. I have not finalized the exaust system plans but it is looming on me now. I am leaning on multi unit ceramic powder coated.
Next is the building and installing of the body brackets to the shell. Any suggestions on where and what of mateing a C4 to new 61 prefab body??????????
Then I will tackel the steering, breaking and cooling systems. Lots of decissions on this stuff.
I started to narrow down the future interior to 2005 ish Lexus or Porch. I found some local talent on the body modifications I am thinking about, which include mid 90's rear tail lighting and front lights and grill. Also almost sure I will build my own custom windshield and soft top frame.
Sure hope this post correctly?????????????????
PS>>>>>>>> My last project, a 100% restoration to like factory new of a very rare Sunburst Yellow 64 Buick Riv is show cased in this months Hemmings Classic Car (Mar 2011 issue) in a 7 page restoration article. It won Best of Show up in Herrshey/Calrile PA June 2010. It is a terrific article. I have it in email format if any body is interested in non vet stuff. Please ignore the owner photo, I am much better looking.
Hi, just wanted to intro myself, I reside in florida, am a simi retired Entrepreneur. My first project was a restoro of a 1964 Riv. Now I am attempting to build a ground up 61 Vet/C4/LS3. I have buiilt the frame, completed the supension, added the rear end, and built the body, and now am ordering the LS3/4L85-E. I am going to mod the 61 body slightly and the interior will be a 2011 Luxury coup.
