- In my younger years I owned a 67 convertible with the 435 HP 427. Not enough power. I ordered a 454 closed chamber short block, blueprinted it, over-bored it to 460 cubic inches. Power was awesome but I shredded weak parts like crazy. Ripped the rear cross member pads right out of the frame, shredded hd clutch, blew up u-joints, transmission input shafts, ring and pinion gears, etc. But nobody beat me. Wish I had that car now.
