and most importantly, how you drive you car. ( e.g. street/strip, street only, but I like a standing start, smoking hole shot is always fun, or drive it like Frankie the Fink, you know like a pussy. Jim

Ok, I am trying to give you my opinion on your questions, but I still do not have enough information to do that accurately. From what I have guessed, I would guess that you have a:

1960 basically stock drive train vette.
    350 engine
    4 speed
    3.70 or 4.11 stock rear
    mild cam
no Idea of how hard you drive your car and what distances

With that base line, I would think:
    a 30 lb flywheel
2600 lb. pressure plate and organic disc

You mention that a " need to keep a softer pedal pressure without having to go to a hydraulic setup ". Why?? I know age and injuries can be a factor. I am almost 69.

If you really want a better opinion, I would need the following:

    Cubic Inches
    induction
    compression ratio
cam specs , duration @ .050", lift and rpm range
    heads
    headers
    exhaust system pipes and mufflers
transmission type and first gear ratio
    rear end type and ratio
rear suspension type and traction devices

Hi Roger, I still do not know how much power your car makes and how well it hooks up. What is your final goal with the clutch and flywheel ? Jim

Hi Roger, aluminum flywheels are great if a car has enough power. It will launch better and rev faster. Ones with a 1/4" steel plate are best. That is what I run in my black car (15 lb. Ram ).

I do not recall what engine you have in your '60, so I can not say if it is good for you.

What is a 7 pound flywheel mad from? I still have my old nodular Iron 30 lb Schiefer Flywheel from the mid 60s. Not legal now. Jim
