Thanks Alan. I was going to leave my natural but see many painted orange. I'm don't have a NCRS car but wanted to stay as original as possible. I kind of like the natural look it's separates the engine from the transmission.
    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
Small block engines were painted with the bell housing in place. There was however, no attempt to paint the bell housing itself, or to protect the housing from getting paint on it. So the majority of the housing is natural aluminum. There was usually a band of orange over-spray about 4" wide on the portion of the bell housing that bolts to the rear of the engine block.
Many people find this looks pretty sloppy so most times only people who are doing a 'factory' type restoration do the over-spray, with many people leaving the entire housing natural aluminium
    Regards,
    Alan

Hello Mr. Vegas69, You should of heard the story I told my wife about the 2 1/2 inch stainless steel exhaust system for my 57 chevy. Then last week I installed an purchased two complete new trailing arms w/rotors. I have no use for the water pump at this time, it just looks good on my shelf instead of his. Thanks for caring though. Doctorgene

I think the Hurst shifters for the vette are going for around $300 bucks new. I'd throw out a thread and see if someone has one laying around here on the forum. Chances are good you could get one that's in good shape. Other than that Jeg's or Summit would be the cheapest.

Do you know what it costs to convert to a hurst shifter? Or where you can get the best deal on one?
