    Hello Daren, Glad to hear from you. Last I remember your car was getting painted. You were wondering about putting new body bushings on without removing body from frame. What stage are you at now? We are still enjoying life here in Riverhead but sadly Keri is battling Stage 4 Breast Cancer and we are all holding our breath. Please pray for her as she deserves to beat this Cancer. Please keep in touch and all the best to your family. (Mom n Dad).

    Daren;

    I have a complete working tach drive distributor. Since all you need is the housing, I can let you have that for the cost of shipping. I have a use for the main shaft and distributor shaft (for another dizzy) so the housing is extra.

    The entertainment / education value of your distributor removal thread is more than worth the value of this housing.

    I am not real sure what it came out of originally (distributor tag is gone) but is was in a running 1973 vintage 350 engine installed in a 66 Corvette. This engine and distributor was running when I pulled the distributor out 6 months ago.

    Email me at emccomas57@gmail.com and we can work out the details.

    Daren,

    If the distributor ignition curve has not been fully optimized you should do it. If you need a reliable source to perform this service I can refer one. He is very reasonable,uses stock Delco weights,springs and autocam. I had one done 4 years ago and the difference in performance was astounding. For your 327-350 hp I would use the following parts

    Points- Napa 7060, Borg Warner HP112 28-32 oz
    VAC- B-20 or B26 (assumes idle vacuum of 14"-16" Hg )
    Accel cap & rotor ( old style #8120 kit- rotor contact stainless steel oval surface brass tang NOT Round Flat OR BLACKEN TANG COLOR)
    Shim set to set gear endplay to 5-7 thousands

    When I had Bill do mine he took it apart and found it needed a new mainshaft,drive gear, lower housing bushing and thrush button. The cost was $175 which included all labor and parts except for the points, VAC ,shims and cap & rotor. He optimized the ignition curve using a Sun Distributor machine and had it back to me within 7 days.
