Jack, I think I read you had a pole attack the 66. Very sorry to hear that news. I hope they repair it perfectly and double quick.

I read your post on frame restoration. I ordered the rivet set from Sully's. Do you have any advice on setting the rivets?

Hi jack, Hope yo do fine. I sent you a PM a while ago, but must have slipped under the end of year booze ;-) Question was what brand of white walls you have, what size, and how wide the white wall is.
    Thanks!
PS: still studying the long lg problem, I am getting closer to a not so difficult mod...

    Hi,

I do have a GPS that I will use.....but it is good to look at maps to get a feel for the countryside......The gps made my trip possible......hard to look at a map and make a turn at the same time....

I am average mechanical abliity.....I did take my car apart and put it back.....but not the paint or engine work......

Your car would be fine in US.....just stop at any old looking garage.....the old fellows know how to fix them..... most NAPA auto part stores have parts that you would need to stay running.. I was in SF in 1969 for a National College Track Meet... I won the Hammer Throw....

Many Germans have been champion Hammer throwers.........

    Hi Jack,
I heard about your trip to Europe. Instead of taking tots of maps with you I would highly recommend to buy one of the mobile navigation devices (or systems) which include maps of all the countries you want to visit. You can use it in your C2 and if you buy it in Germany you can to my knowledge switch the language to English. I am quite impressed by your trip around the US. Have you been in the car business before -being able to do all kinds of repair? I would not dare to take my 65 C2 to the US and do the same. I was especially interested what you wrote about the Bay Area because I studied at ZC Berkeley in 1970/71.

    Jack,

I dropped them in the post today. Hopefully they will be there in a 2-3 days.

    They are individual maps for:

Benelux (Belgium / Luxembourg) and Northern France
Germany (all of Germany and Rheinland -Pfalz / Saarland)
    Europe
    France
    Switzerland
    Amsterdam

As well, a big Michelin Europe guide (215 pages) that covers 40 countries.

    Thoughts?

No problem with water here but the south has been really beat up with bad storms and tornados. Good luck at the ncrs event.
