Hi Randy. I saw a radio reduction frame for the Corvette c4 in your photo. Was it printed on a 3D printer? Please do not have the drawing needed for 3D printing? It would help me a lot. Thank you. Thomas

    Kirst,
My car was built 3/23/1990, my brothers b-day! A couple of things to keep and eye on are the clutch hydraulics, and oil leaks, mine was leaking from the seal around the distributor. I have a new stereo system installed w/ an amp, my factory system did not work at all. My car has the C5 Z06 wheels on it. My car only came w/ the clear top (blue).
As for mod's, there is a guy in CA that helped me alot, forum name Trog (Martin), great guy, and I think he has a shop near you. He burned my new chip for me, when I installed the new exhaust the car kept throwing a EGR code because it did not have enough back pressure. He's a good guy, and he also has a '90 that is supercharged.
That's a good book your reading, I am reading it too. Trying to find out why my car failed inspection.
I know about the Firestone Firehawks, may go that way, I have a price of $695 installed, just trying to look at all the options. I am interested in the Nitto NT555's also, they seem to make a very good tire.

You're correct, car was ordered & built 11/89 then delivered 12/89. The guy ordered it with all the ZR-1 stuff except the engine. It is in great shape, just a short list of stuff (polish, hatch weatherstrip, very small transmission leak, think its a rear seal coming down on the cat converter, carpet wear near clutch pedal). I plan to get on a lift and look it over closely. The guy didn't order it with tire pressure sensor (one less thing to go bad) or the CD player (was advised they were unreliable). Second owner found a factory CD and sent it out to have the CD replaced, works good (and I have the original). He also bought that set of '96 SE spoked wheels and I have both sets with good rubber on both. He also found a smoked roof (OEM) that came with the car (along with the painted one). Story goes that the dealers took delivery of Corvettes with the 2-roof option, but if a customer didn't notice the option on the sticker, the dealer kept the second roof. This guy bought it from a surplus parts place with factory wrap still on it. The guy also put a cat back Y type exhaust on it (I also have the stock one).

I'll have to pick your brain on the mods someday...I'm reading that fuel injection book by Probst & he pretty much says most of the easy mods (cat back, air filter, etc.) doesn't do much for the '90 because of the MAP sensor (air flow calculated not measured direct). I guess you have to get the chip tuned to get it right.

About those tires, I did a quick search & Hankook does not make our size. Look at the Firestone Wide Ovals, they got great reviews for an all weather tire, especially good on the wet. I think you can find them on-line for about $150 each, which compared to Goodrich or Goodyear is a pretty good deal.

Sounds like the same car............except for the mods. Smoke Grey interior? Sport seats? They only made 878 in that color for 1990, about 650 of them were coupes. Anything give you chronic problems, I've had mine throw a couple of codes (EGR, Air Bags & FX3 switch, but been able to sort them out so far.
