Hi, Jeremy,
Sorry I didn’t get back to your sooner, I’ve not been spending too much time on the forum lately.
Well, if you haven't found your answer yet, here it is.
The limiter I have is not original. I bought it from NAPA since my original one was dead from doing its job. The thermal limiter is basically just a fuse. The posts on my NAPA limiter are not labeled.
However, the socket it plugs into is labeled and the limiter can only be plugged into it one way.
My plug is labeled “A”, “B”, and “C”.
“A” is a black wire that goes down to the superheat switch on the back of the compressor.
“B” is a green wire that comes from the wiring harness.
“C” is a green wire that connects to the clutch on the compressor.
I hope this was the information you were looking for.
I have my “all original” AC system working perfectly and it is using the new refrigerant, R134a. It blows 50 degrees out of the center vent, which is really not bad.
If you don’t have them yet, you should really consider getting a copy of the original factory service manual and the assembly manual for 1973 corvettes. The information inside them is worth way more than the cost of the books. You can answer many of your own questions with just the information they contain.
Good luck with your 73 and if I can be of any further help, please let me know.
Have a great day,
Mike.
