Hi Dennis , i saw your car via the wheels and tire link here on the forum and love the look that you have there , would you mind telling me what tire and wheel combo you have there? ie wheels size ,width, backspace, also tire size and whether or not you had to do any mods to accommodate fitment ? thanks

    Dennis,
Saw your motor in a "what fits under the hood" post that is running right now. What carb do you have on your ZZ383?

    Greg,
I converted my car to Allen's stainless sidepipes a couple years before I did the engine swap and was still using the rams horn manifolds. When the 383 went in the heads on the zz383 had oval ports and were not a good match for the rams horns. So we tried to find a center dump shorty header just to keep things simple. Also a shorty header would leave me good ground clearance versus the long tube headers going into sidepipes. We tried Sandersons shorty headers first. They hit my steering box and we would have to dimple one tube for them to fit. We then tried Patriot shorties and because their tube configuration was different they fit right in with no problem. From there the connection to the Allens sidepipes had to be fabricated. Very good muffler guy cut the front of the stainless sidepipe of and then fabricated stainless pipe and collectors to mate up with the Patriot headers. I have several pictures of the process if you would like them. Let me know.

    Dennis,
I have a 383 and am trying to make an exhaust choice. I understand you have shorty headers on yours. Can you tell me anything else about your setup? I'm considering either shorty headers with a crossover and classic chambered or the Hedman sidepipe longer headers and the classic chambered. I don't think the longer headers leave room for a crossover.

    Thanks
    Greg

Dennis, Your corvette is stunning. Why not post a few pics of her on the 'sweet silver vette' social group here on the forum.
