Hey man! Been reading a few of your posts about driving c5's on track. In your experience has the batwing oil pan prevented oil starvation with on track driving?

I'm an instructor new to the corvette world. My car is a pretty stock c5 z06 with some sticky tires (and lots of fluid coolers). I just don't want to lose an engine on track due to oil starvation.

    Thank you!

Just saw a link to your car in a C5 tech post about LS3 dry sump issues. Great looking ride and seems you do well in your racing endeavors. Hooah!

Yeah, I actually retired from the Army a few months ago (after 22 years)...and am still here at Ft. Bragg working leisurely as a contractor now.

That idiot Jack Hall moved over in front of me and slammed on his brakes while I was passing him during the 2d National at VIR in April. I posted it on YouTube if you want to see it. He was just out for a Sunday drive - going 16 seconds per lap slower than me!!!!! Yep, 16 seconds slower, in a T1 car. Unreal. He took off my left front corner, so I used this opportunity to drop a new engine in there, dry sump and a few other goodies. It cost me a fortune, but at least car should run correctly now. I'll teach a school at VIR in October and then do the ARRC in Atlanta...and then just relax until next year's races at Homestead and Sebring!

    Chris,
Saw your car at Phoenix when I was picking mine up a couple of weeks back. I was commenting to Jeanne how good it looked and she laughed and said it didn't look that way when it came in. Anyway, saw your reply and wanted to say hello. Not sure if you're from NC, but I grew up in Murphy, NC and graduated from ASU. ROTC grad, US Army, Year Group 85. 1st Cav, 1-5 Cav, Ft. Hood. Got out in 1990, but still have friends in and some recently retired. Work takes me to PA but plan to move back south when the opportunity presents.
Good luck and hope you don't have to send the car back this way anytime soon!
