Hi John, I hope you had a Merry Christmas and are enjoying the Holiday Season. You have been such a emmense help to so many of us seeking information about our cars, I hope you know how much your knowledge is appreciated.
At this point, I am purchasing a set of knock off wheels for my car but am baffled by a date code for a reputed 64 wheel EJ20. Is E the shift and the J Oct then 20 the 20th (to be read as the E shift on October 20, 1964?

John: figured it out -- really obvious. The hanger is part of the undercar exhaust system, but not part of the rear engine mount hardware.

(I had sent you a PM asking where the AIM said that side exhaust cars did not keep the center hanger. Couldn't see where the center hanger was deleted. But now I understand that it didn't need to be deleted.)

Hi John, Thank you. One other item just arose: There seems to be some concern the front clip may be sloping down in the front. Can you recommend a procedure to check this and if such is the case what would be the easiest way to remove the parts already glued into place. Unfortunately, the original body shop went out of business and we now know why. Martin

John, I just picked up my car from the body shop as it was closing it's doors for good.
They have sanded the dash. Is there a texture and a correct method for finishing which you would be willing and able to share with me. Thank you and best regards, Martin

Hey, John...I just posted a query...my '66 327/300 has the 2 holes atop the intake manifold...it's cooking my carb. How best do I seal them up?

John, I am am dealing with a charging issue I can't get definate answers on. My 63 has a stock electrical system. But I have added a Vintage air and Spal fan. Vintage air recommends connecting them to the battery. Folks on the Forum say, the horn relay buse.
With the horn relay connection, my a/c and fan comes on and the gauge takes dive for the negative. When the a/c and spal are connected to the battery, the system is in a medium charging state. Meaning the gauge is about 25% into the positive zone.
My questions are, will adding an alternator greater than my current 65 amp be needed? If so, do I need to upgrade the hot alt wire to a larger gauge? Do any other wires need upgrading?
What would you suggest as a proper connection point for the a/c and spal fan?
    You help is appreciated.

    Regards,Mike Frost

John Z; thanks. We open the rear siting hole;turned the top adjustment screw/nut counter clockwise. While fuel leaked from the TOP, it was never visible on the sight port on the side. Any ideas. BTW, I replaced the voltage reg. hoping to improve this stall issue;now I'm charging but more than ever convinced its a carb issue as you suggested.
