Default Painting the ZO6 Hood on Z16?

Ken or Bob,

I have to have my hood repainted due to a scratch I did not see at delivery. Have you guys had any troubles repainting these?

I'm am concerned because of the metal flake and the carbon fibre hood?

Hello,

It's a shame to have to disturb the factory paint. We have not had to paint a Vette hood here; but I visited with the body shop we use about this. I was basicly told it is different than painting metal so be sure the body shop doing it has a very good painter. I also suggest you use a body shop that has the capability to bake the part afterwards. I would also see if you can visit with the painter before hand to let them know of your concerns for quality etc. Maybe you can get them to take extra care with the hood.
Good luck.

Bob

Thanks for the info. The dealer will be performing the work, I bought the car through Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine Texas. It is my understanding they have a good reputation.

I know I'll be calling on you guys for parts and such, I learned of the forum after I made my purchase!

Thanks again!

Bob,

Do you have a number for someone @ GM that might have some good info on repainting the hood?

I don't know of anyone to call at GM for that information. I would check with the body shop and see if they have any contacts on their end.
