I took delivery of the first C6 that Ken delivered. It was a complete pleasure. He picked my wife and I up at the Billings airport, drove us to the dealership, and spent two hours or so explaining the features of the car, maintenance tips, alternative routes back to the Bay Area, etc. We met his dad and his uncle, both very pleasant people. The whole dealership is a class act. When it came time to settle up financially, the deal was exactly as we had agreed - no last minute surprises. When was the last time anyone had that experience in buying a car? I would recommend Ken to anyone thinking of buying a vette or an SSR or any other Chevy for that matter. By the way, the car is TERRIFIC. I will post pictures in a 10 days or so. I am travelling a lot between now and then. But, my car is on the truck shown in Ken's latest newsletter. I got the DSOM, MN6, F55, 1SB version and wouldn't change a thing. I drove it aggressively between Laurel and West Yellowstone and it was great fun. When you drive it steadily at freeway speeds, the mileage is fantastic. So, you have the best of both worlds. We drove from Big Sky Montana to Palo Alto, CA (between San Francisco and San Jose) nonstop in one day (1,100+ miles). I have never driven that far in a day and never smiled so much. No tickets either. But, the purpose of this post is to give kudos to Ken Fichtner. I said it was the next best thing to a Museum Delivery - I may have been wrong -- it may be better.
It's pretty rare to hear such praise of a dealer after the sale. I'm glad to know that your experience was great and Ken lives up to his legend. I'll be picking mine up from him too (soon I hope) and driving it back to the LA area. Congrats on your new ride!
