About 8 of us engineers went to the local chevy dealer today to see the new C6, coupe, auto, precision red, MSRP of $52k+.
Not one of us car and corvette guys said WOW. 2 guys were ready to buy it before they saw it, but now that they have they are not going too. Here are their comments. The precision red needs to be cancelled, too dark maroonish, the front view is the best and really nice, the back view is a big improvement, the sides were disappointing especially the cut outs. The steering wheel looks like it is out of a vega, seats are more supportive than the c5's, no one cared for the silver treatment around the radio area.
Talked to the salesmanager about it and last week before it got there the price was MSRP, now it could be had for $1,500 off. He said that too many guys have had the same impression we did. Must be why there are C6's sitting on lots this early in the game. I guess GM should not let a Aztek designer touch a corvette.
This is really too bad as I am impressed with the mechanical upgrades, the engineers did their job.
Thats WHY I bought a C5/Vert. My 12 year old son also did not want the C6, it needs the hidden lights, he says, I say it too. The sides are to blame, not as deep as the C5. I was shocked to see GM would trust the Aztek man to design the C6. Do you put a 200 average hitter in the ball game in the 9 ining to win the game?

Then go for Victory Red which is currently on the Monte Carlo or go with Arctic White.
