Default 2015 Corvette Z06 Announcement to Dealers

Good morning,

Today at the North America International Auto Show in Detroit, the 2014 Corvette Stingray was named North America Car of the Year and the Chevrolet Silverado was named North America Truck of the Year.

The Corvette Team is very proud, but continues to be humbled by all the recognition the Corvette Stingray has received the past 12 months. The team is not resting on its laurels as we celebrate with the unveiling of the most track-capable Corvette in the brand’s history – the 2015 Corvette Z06.

The 2015 Corvette Z06 elevates the performance envelope for Corvette with unprecedented levels of aerodynamic downforce, at least 625 horsepower from an all-new supercharged V8 engine, and an all-new, high-performance eight-speed automatic transmission – all building on the advanced driver technologies introduced on the Corvette Stingray.

To help address the many inquiries regarding today’s announcement, a quick reference guide is attached that provides images of the 2015 Corvette Z06 as well as information on the recently announced Corvette Performance Data Recorder. GMLaunch.com (now available through GMGlobalConnect) has additional answers to frequently asked questions, and copies of today’s press releases. Consumers seeking additional information on the 2015 Corvette Z06 can be directed to Chevrolet.com/Corvette.

Chevrolet also revealed today the all-new Corvette C7.R race car that was co-developed with the all-new Corvette Z06. The highly successful Corvette Racing Team will field two C7.R race cars in 2014, starting later this month at the 52nd Rolex 24 At Daytona on Jan. 25-26. The race kicks off the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship – a new series debuting this year after the merger of the American Le Mans Series and GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series. The C7.R will compete in the GT Le Mans class, in 11 races around North America. Check local listing to tune-in and watch the new Corvette C7.R attempt to build on the success the C6.R enjoyed against the likes of Porsche, Audi and BMW.

Chevrolet is excited to start the next chapter for Corvette. The 2015 Corvette Z06 is expected to arrive in dealerships early 2015. Ordering, allocation and pricing information will be provided to dealers in the second half of this year.

WE ARE NOT TAKING DEPOSITS at this time and we won't be taking deposits until we know what our allocations are. As stated above, this information will be available later in the year.

Have a great day!
