Got mine along with two car covers from Ken.
Opening is about 6 1/2 inches by 1 1/4 inches and designed so
water will not drip into it.
I will be installing this cover along with a K&N filter on my 2000 Coupe.
Why would
anyone pay $60.00 for the ones that have a large square hole
cut in the top?
Once again OUTSTANDING service.

Hi Ken, I've read all the post. Sounds exciting with this type of mod. I have a question. Can I use the same air filter I have in my C5 in the 2002 Z06 upper air filter housing? If so, I will call and order too. Thanks Ken

Well I ordered mine yesterday and can't wait! Tom took my order and he was super nice.

Patience is a virtue,..but I'm bouncing off the walls to get it and start making WOT runs!

I love all this SOTP and "feels great" stuff but the truth is in the pudding. Has anyone dynoed this thing so that we can compare apples to apples? If you replace the filter with a K&N then the price is close to $100. Still cheaper than the Vortex or Blackwing but how much better than stock is it really? When the numbers come out on a STOCK vs STOCK plus Z06 cover then we will all have the truth. It doesnt count if you have an aftermarket exhaust or headers etc. With all the enthusiasts on this sight I would think someone would have run over to the neighborhood dyno by now. Breathless dynoed theres but there was a question of an aftermarket exhaust.

I just put mine on (with a K&N), thanks Ken!

What is the "hood seal" that they were talking about?

This sounds like a very economical way to improve performance, but as was already pointed out, have any of you guys done a before/after dyno run? That would be interesting... :flag

I'm wondering if a before after dyno test would really tell the whole story... When you are accelerating on the road don't you have increased airflow into the ZO6 air box that wouldn't show up on a dyno test? I don't think you can simulate the "ram air" effect (if there is any?) ???

I'm guessing 90% of any mods done to members vette's have never been tested on a dyno. Seems SOTP is good enough for folks to drop $$$$ all over the place to find a little more HP - if any. What I think is being said here is that no matter the actual HP increase gained from this mod the bottom line is that the the car with this mod will surely have every advantage over a car without. I figure if GM took two years to come up with the R&D on this part either GM can't engineer a decent engine upgrade or they know something about how the "small block" Chevy engine responds to minor upgrades. I go with the later.

Just my .02. Would I love to see a dyno before and after you bet.

silversport,

Its a GM cover with "CORVETTE" across the front, I guess Ken should list it.
The price is higher then other covers of about the same kind.
