My Vette rolled off the line on March 22. Allied told me today that it should arrive by my dealer by April 5. Why so long? I've heard guys say they got their car within a couple of days after it was built. Any explanation that you can offer? (Allied said the car was dispatched yesterday, but hasnt shipped....)
Say you live in Florida and your car is ready to ship on the 1st of the month. Allied needs 9 more cars to fill the trailer going to Florida so your car may set for a week waiting for a car produced on the 8th, it is on the truck the next day and at the dealer on the 10th. Also the order that the trucks delivery can make 1-2 days difference if you are the first car off or the last car off.
Your time sounds about average. Good luck and be patient, it is worth the wait!

Yea, in the back of my mind, that's what I thought. But I'm impatient. When I bot my 2005 from Kerbeck, car showed up instantly. I know that Kerbeck is larger and their delivery trailer fills up quicker. This time I bot from a smaller dealer (better deal), so I have to wait. By this time next week, I know I'll have it. Just too impatient!
The average time is about 2 weeks. Quality control holds at the plant can delay the cars but transport (filling trailers for a given region) is likely the biggest source of delay. When I bought my 01Z, it took 10 days to reach my Houston dealer and that's a BIG market for vettes.

Call them, but dont be a pest. They dont like dealing with retail.....You will need the last 6 digits of your VIN. If you dont have it, dont bother calling them.

My car rolled off the line on Monday 3/27. It's been one week and it's still waiting for a truck. How long does it typically take to fill up a truck to Arizona? I would think a truck to Southern California would be fine.
My car came off the line 3/22, didnt leave factory until 3/30.
portmgr198,
Thanks for the quick reply. So yours was going to Englishtown and it took a week to fill up the truck. Hopefully mine will leave shortly. I have sold my 01 Z28 to an old friend who will be in town April 21st to watch his son pitch for Stanford against Arizona, so I'm giving the car to him then. Man, if my car is still not in by then I'm stuck driving a 92 Corsica that barely runs!
Also, sure wish I was closer to Englishtown, what a great dragstrip. Either Englishtown or Atco turns in some pretty good times. Here in Arizona we are at 1250 feet of altitude to begin with and if it gets warm we can see density altitudes of over 5000 feet!
