I'm in the process of placing an order for an 06 Coupe. The exterior color is Monterey red. I was going to order the black (ebony) interior.
However, most of the dealers inventories I've checked seem to equip the monterey red vettes with the cashmere interior about 80% of the time. I'm wondering why. I'm hoping to keep the car for about 15 years so I felt that the black would not only look nicer, but would stay cleaner. I also figured that the black goes better with red anyways. The cashmere color is rich looking, but I think it would get a little boring after some time. On the other hand it does lighten up the interior.
I would appreciate any thoughts, comments or experiences with this.
Thanks.

The Monterey Red looks great with Ebony, Cashmere and also the Titanium interior.
I personally like the Titanium interior as it really brings out the metallic in the exterior paint.
However, if you desire an interior that is not "two-toned" then you should order the ebony interior.
Just my "2 cents" worth.
No matter what you decide you will love your new C6!

you want an opinion? red with cashmere is stunning. don't kid yourself, black or any dark color gets just as dirty as the light colors. the light ones just let you known when their dirty! good luck with you new ride, i'm jealous.
If you like the "old" lady look" that will look like the inside of a coffin to you after a few years as you get into your Vet to go to sleep, go with Cashmere. A washed out look for an interior is definitely the Cashmere that is now offered for the Corvette. I can imagine what it will look like if you keep the Vet the intended 15 years.
Black is the way to go. It will be timeless as the years go by as a color that never goes out of style. I think these current, drab, neutral interiors were invented by the auto makers to "sort of" go with many different exterior colors so they would have less interior colors to stock, and they could have larger "buys" for a greater discount from the leather suppliers.
I have also read that they also call the current neutral color trend the "European look". Well, I am not European, and I want an American look to the American Sports car that I drive. I feel if they offered a richer, and deeper colored "Saddle" color, than they would have something that really looked great in a "brown" shade of color that would look great with an exterior red color especially the darker Monterey Red.
Living in Las Vegas, black is a no no for the interior color. This is true for a lot of the southwest. Thus the need for lighter colors like cashmere or light grey in order to survive the summers.
Black however is the more popular color elsewhere in the country, particularly in the north and northeast.

Get what you want is the best and only solution.
Your right on dark colors in the Southwest is a no no. Picking up my 2006 C6 Arctic White w/ Titanium Gray, 4/11/06 at the NCM.
Very nice Newskatercat. Thank you for sharing. Mine is scheduled to be built this Tuesday. Your pictures convince me that I made the right color combo!

My MR is on order and I chose Ebony. I actually prefer the older C5 "Black" interior but I seem to be the only one. Guess I've got to go with the times.
I vette in any color looks great.
A red vette looks awsome.
You can't go wrong either way.
Here dealers only order them with and NAV and cashmere.
If that happens to be what you like great.
Me, I ordered my from Rick at Les Stanford, just the way I wanted it.
VR with black.
I have had light interiors.
IMO - the are cooler in the summer but look dirty. I don't care for teh look after a few years.
I love the classic ebony look.
If you are talking Vert I would think light interior though.
Often over looked but very nice is the gray interior. You get black carpet. That would have been my second choice.
