Are the dealers reimbursed for this just like a regular GMS sale?

I bet this is the reason they recently excluded ALL 2005 Corvettes from being eligible for GMS so that there would be nobody trying to take advantage of this deal.

So when you go to gmbuypower.com and get the Employee Discount price, that price includes any available rebates, right?

But you can still get the dealer to discount the vehicle like they might normally do???

And what about GM Card Earnings? The GM Card site says that GM Card Earnings can not be combined with the Employee Discount programs, but I wonder if that still applies now that it is opened up to all consumers. If not, that makes the GM Card Earnings useless during this promotion...

The GM commercials are VERY misleading. The one I heard said that this applies to ALL GM CARS AND TURCKS. No mention was made of the Corvette exception.

I haven't seen the commerical, but more than likely there was some fine print at the bottom or end of the commerical.

N/M I just re-read that you "heard" it.

Ken--what does"dealer will be permitted to assess up to $75.00 in documentary fees" mean in simple English. The reason i'm asking is that my daughter bought an '05 Equinox LS today, and the dealer told me that he couldn't waive the $249.00 doc. fee because GM charges them that much for it.

Your "dealer" did not tell you the truth. GM DOES NOT charge the dealer ANY AMOUNT for a DOC FEE. The GMS price just puts a max. limit ($75) on what the dealer can charge for a doc fee.

If I remember right from something the CHUCK HUTTON dealership said when I was vette shopping last year, TN has a state fee (tax).

The GM details do say the dealer can charge more than $75 if the state requires it.

That said I would still check it out.

On the question of doc fees:

GM revised the program:

DEALERS WILL BE PERMITTED TO ASSESS DOCUMENTARY FEES ON EACH DELIVERY TO AN ELIGIBLE PURCHASER UNDER THE TERMS OF THIS PROGRAM, UNLESS OTHERWISE PROVIDED BY STATE OR LOCAL LAWS OR REGULATIONS. EACH DEALER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR COMPLYING WITH APPLICABLE LAWS OR REGULATIONS. DEALERS MAY NOT CHARGE DIFFERENT FEES TO PARTICIPANTS IN THE 2005 MY GM EMPLOYEE PURCHASE PROGRAM.

On the question of use of the GM Card rebate:

GM lists these programs as compatible:

05-05 GM CARD (BLUE/GOLD)
05-05A GM CARD (COPPER/PLATINUM/CHECK CARD)
05-05B GM BUSINESS CARD
05-05C GM EXTENDED FAMILY CARD

Tennessee has a State Sales Tax Rate of 9.75%, one of if not the HIGHEST in the country. But TN DOES NOT have any kind of law that requires a dealer to charge a doc fee, nor does it set any limits on the amount of a doc fee. So yes , TN will tax you to death with the sales tax, but they do not require a doc fee or put limits on them.

For NDMIKE88

P.S.- I also just a few days ago bought a new 2005 Equinox in Tennessee where the normal doc fee at my dealer is $89.99, BUT since I was using the employee discount with the new program I only had to pay $75 because GM sets that limit on GMS deals. I think those Nashville area dealers did you wrong.

Ken,

I'm shopping for a 3/4 ton PU right now and I've got a question on the extra's.

Your list says that instant value certificates are honored but one of the dealers I'm shopping says "And they did away with the coupons for this month."

Did they?

Thanks.
