Steering Wheel Lock and Cruise Control?

I had the steering wheel lock fixed at the Chevy dealer and on the way home the cruise control didn't work. I took it back and, of course, it worked at the dealer. I've found that it works about 60-70% of the time. Has anyone else encountered this in connection with the steering wheel lock or is it just a coincidence? I thought they might have screwed up the cruise wiring or on/off switch when they did the lock repair.

I just checked with our techs that do this recall and they said in some instances the cruise switch is unplugged and removed in the process but not everytime. If your dealer did unplug it and now it is intermittent it could be because it is not plugged back together correctly or tight enough, or it may be just a coincidence. I suggest you politely ( if possible ) ask them to check it out since you had not had any problems with it before they worked on it.

Does the C6 have a steering wheel lock problem???Thats one of many reasons I got rid of my C5 !!!

Thanks, Bob. I'll try the politeness route. MY wife says the nasty route never gets me anywhere anyway. And in this case I'm not sure whether they did anything wrong. EdP.
