Default Corvette Production Weekly Constraints – 05/05/05

This information will also be included in my weekly newsletter under the topic, Kens Newsletters.

Weekly Constraint/Production News - UPDATED

Constraints are distributed based on Available Days’ Supply (ADS), Controlled Method or Percent of Allocation (POA). Dealers can use the weekly constraint wire to see the basic availability of an option. The percentages on the weekly constraint wire are estimated based on the national retail number of the constrained option divided by the amount of retail orders being allocated for the week.

Ken

My C6 is scheduled for production the week 0f May 2 - May 8. I'm taking delivery of this vehicle from my local dealer. I noticed that someone mention on this forum there is a 2 week quality inspection waiting period for the NCM delivery. Does this waiting period apply to dealer delivery? I don't think I can wait another 3 weeks for my C6

I've heard a lot of positive postings about purchasing Extended Warranty thru you. I'll give you a call as soon as I take delivery of the C6.

Thanks

Not Ken but my C6 was delivered 10 days (calendar not business) after build. I think they CAN hold for 2 weeks for quality but unless there is an issue they don't. That is why they don't schedule NCM closer to build.
Know what you mean by not waiting. It is worth it.

"I noticed that someone mention on this forum there is a 2 week quality inspection waiting period for the NCM delivery. Does this waiting period apply to dealer delivery?"

Museum Delivery:
I cannot answer for the museum but my experience has been that deliveries are normally scheduled a couple of weeks after the car has been produced. There is necessary for a couple of reasons: 1) There are other cars waiting for delivery already, 2) The museum needs time to return cars to the plant if there is a need to do so for any issues, 3) The selling dealer needs time to get the paperwork to the customer, receive it back signed and with the final payment. The museum will not allow a delivery to occur until the paperwork is done and the vehicle has been paid for.

Dealer Delivery:
Once cars have passed final inspection it is up to the carrier to deliver them to the ship to dealers. Often times this takes a few days as the carrier is not going to ship until they have a full truckload. I have received new Corvettes in less than a week from the build date and yet others have taken a month!

Please email Dennis Fichtner at GMPP@fichtnerchevrolet.com for a prompt and courteous quote on the General Motors Protection Plan. We are extremely competitive on our plan pricing and without sales tax!

Have a great day,
