Default IMPORTANT – More News on the New C6 Exhaust System!

I just spoke with the folks at GM performance parts.

We had a great conversation and they were able to answer several of the questions proposed by Forum members the past couple of days.

Availability:
We can order and have shipped IMMEDIATELY the new system with the 4 Twin Tips.

Sound:
They are not going to provide sound clips because they believe that the sound clips being provided by other manufacturers have poor sound when posted on the web. The system is definitely louder and better sounding than the stock exhaust.

Performance:
They stated that any aftermarket system will increase the performance of a new Corvette. They are not interested in getting into a debate and having tall tales exchanged on the web. Their studies show that their offering performs as well as and in most cases better than anybodies!

Endorsement:
David Hill is pleased!

Manufacturer:
Borla

Warranty:

For Those Of You Who Want To Hear A Sound Bite, Borla Says The Gm System Is Very Similar To Their Street Touring System. If You Go To Borlas Site The Street Touring Sound Bite Is What You Want. They Do Say The Gm System Is 1-2 Decibles Quieter.

Since SpongeBob AKA PartsBob AKA Robert Wendorff posted information on the sound bite that I am unfamiliar with, I will allow him to post the reply! My post indicated that there would not be any sound bites published by GM. I have ordered this exhaust system for my new C6 and I will let you all know what I think! I have been a long time loyal Corsa owner and I am ready for a change.

I Talked To Borla Yesterday And Was Told They Had A Sound Bite For The Street Touring System. I Just Tried To Find It On Their Site And Could Not As Well. I Just Called Them But They Are Closed For The Day Already So Will Contact Them Tomorrow And Get The Link To Their Bite And Post It Here.

Here is the latest from Borla!

I just got off the phone with a senior individual at Borla. He said that several of the sales people, including the one I must have visited with were under the impression their sound bite on the home page was of the touring system. It turns out it is not, but is their aggressive system. He said the aggressive system is about 102-103 decibles while the touring system is between 96-97 decibles. He said the touring and the GM system is similar to stock but lower and throatier.

I appologize for the confusion.

Thanks for the follow up. Why don't any of the aftermarket exhaust companys include a sound clip of the stock system for comparison purposes? I know that over the internet the sound may not be representative of the actual product, but if they compared it to stock we would at least be able to get an idea of the difference in sound between the two..

SILVERVERT,

THAT IS A VERY GOOD QUESTION!!

HERE ARE BORLA'S AND CORSA'S 800 # CALL THEM AND ASK THEM
THEY HAVEN'T PAID ANY ATTENTION TO US, MAYBE THEY WILL LISTEN TO AN ACTUAL CUSTOMER.

BORLA 877-462-6752

CORSA 800-486-0999

I sent emails to both Corsa and Borla regarding comparative recordings. I love my vert but I definately need to do something with my exhaust, it's way to quiet. My totally stock 2002 had a far better sounding rumble to it. I will let you know if I receive any feedback from either company.

Update
- I received a reply from Corsa , who were very helpful. Unfortunately Borla chose not to reply to me. I guess I just decided on which exhaust system I will be getting.....
