As a dealer, we become aware of the VIN once the car has been produced and invoiced to our dealership. I have been able to get the VIN for our customers by calling Kevin at the plant the week that the order is to be produced.

Order Number JQJQBQ
This order will be produced the week of 11/14 thru 11/19
It reached an event code of 3300 (Scheduled for production) on 10/29/05.
It should now have a VIN assigned to it though I cannot view it.
Have a great weekend,
Ken Fichtner

Kevin,
I ordered a C6 Coupe on 27 Oct. My order number is JQVGK5. any possibility of getting the current event code and maybe a TPW. I have been following this forum and you have been a great source of information and help to all.
Thanks for all the help!
Barry

Not important by any means, but I am curious if there are any codes within the order "numbers"... like deciphering a VIN. ex: the third letter corresponds to the day the order was placed, and the fourth is the position of jupiter in the sky at the time of order.

Order number JQNJPZ:
Order request submitted by dealer to GM on 10/21. There has been no activity on this request. Either the dealer did not have an allocation last week or he used it for someone else. Therefore this request is not an actual order and has not entered the production process.

Have a great day, and keep the pressure on your selling dealer! Ask them why your order requests have not become actual orders.

How do you know the "order number?" I placed my order on 10/24 and it was accepted by GM on 10/27. I got an email that it had been accepted but I have not seen an order number. thanks.

The order number is generated to the dealer when an order request is submitted to GM. It is the responsibility of the dealer to provide this information to their customers.

Hi Ken,
Here's another one for you: Order number JQCP4M. Ordered on Oct. 13. My dealer isn't providing much feedback, and I was wondering what progress has been made. Thanks.

It never ceases to amaze me that your selling dealers are not providing weekly updates to each of you. The Corvette is the only "in demand" vehicle that we have to sell and one on which we make a very nice profit. Why in the world dealer's wouldn't take better care of you is beyond me.
In any event....here's an update on order JQCP4M:
Target production week is 11/14/05
The order reached an event code of 3400, order broadcast, on 11/2/05 so the TPW should not change now. Your car will be produced soon!

9T6 LT1,
You can save the kisses!
Your order number JRCHJF is no more than an order request submitted by your dealer on 11/1/05. Without an available allocation your order request will never become an actual in system order. Put the pressure on your dealer for a copy of their weekly placement report so that you know when and if they will have an allocation.
cbrf4i1,
Your order number JPDG4D was produced on 10/24/05. Your car is bayed at the plant and available to ship. Your dealer has been invoiced and can provide you with the VIN. Congratulations!
