FNG ABQ NM 1992 lt1
I am a huge fan of square non-aerodynamic Fords -but- had been keen to get an 84-90ish corvette for some time.
I blew up my daily driver POS Kia on Monday (subliminally intentional) and started car shopping before the Kia engine was cold…. (Rod through the block so I dun it up right)
I found a red 1992 C4 (as I’m told) and looked at it yesterday, and wire transferred this morning and now I’m the proud owner of sed 1992 LT1.
64k miles need some cosmetic work, first thing is the pop up headlight gears, and weatherstripping.
In the future she will need a new top as this one is cracked,
the rear panel says “Hennessy” so I’m not sure what that means… there were no empty bottles rattling around in the back…
I’ll do most of the work myself unless it gets too greasy, as I don’t like getting too dirty anymore.
I look forward to picking y’all’s brains when I get stumped.

I have to look if I have khaki cargo shorts, would a faded OD green be acceptable?
I am confused on footwear,
is it socks with sandals or is that just Florida?
-or- is it white “New Balance” tennis shoes
I do have a pair of white Van’s boat shoes with subdued checkerboard, is that acceptable?
I only have ankle white socks, calf length is the correct length?
I don’t want to look like a noob at the coffee run.
here is what I got coming in the mail so far..

Welcome to the forum. If the car is truly a Hennessy creation, he is a performance builder that puts together high performance packages for Corvettes and other models. Using the forum’s search function should bring up more info on his work.

Not knowing much about this generation and little about the generation I was looking for doesn't help.
The only things that look odd to me are the wider rear wheels and fender flares, and the air intake is 3 cylindrical elements way up front like ram-air.
the 1st to 4th shifter thing is odd but it's not bothersome, I'm actually driving more civilly in this than I was in my Kia....
I did already order the brass headlight motor repair kit as my driver side is acting up. I did read about it just usually being those rabbit pellet/bushings that go bad and rarely the gears, but since I haven't taken it apart yet I have the gears just in case.
my children's children can worry about the next rebuild.
I will take pics of the engine but it is embarrassingly dirty right now, so after I clean it without hosing down the optical distributor I'll have those.
Thanks for the Welcome!

Welcome to the Forum, be sure you check out the C4 sections here, lot's of great info and folks over there. If it's Hennessey that will be pretty cool. Hell Callaway built one of the fastest corvettes ever built out of a C4

Alright went to a local shop called Bruce’s.
clean professional shop and have an appointment in 6-8 weeks.
he think I’ll need new catalytic converters to start with.
He said he has seen everything but got a good laugh at the fender flares.
he said the wheels are later generation and there a spacers, hence the flares.
Once it’s up on the rack if the wheels will fit without the spacers and flares we will remove them. If they aren’t found to be doing any harm they will stay.
I may look for the correct wheels in the mean time, just in case.
he gave me pointers on the cosmetic stuff I’m going to handle.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Corvette! The car looks to be in great shape! Does the car have any neat RPO codes in the SPID label? It definitely looks like a great car and the LT1 cars are a blast do drive. You can unplug the CAGS solenoid and cap the ends with a kit found online. This will eliminate the skip shift if it's something that you don't care for. The previous owner eliminated it in my 93 and I like it being eliminated. Is the interior in as equally nice shape as the exterior?
