New from france
Hi all !
In a few days, august 18 « Woodstock" my 69 Corvette will be 53 years old so It is therefore important to introduce myself, I'm Dan, I live in France near Paris and 3 years ago I bought a 1969 C3 Le Mans blue with a mechanical gearbox.
One day in April 2020 in full confinement I was looking for information on the car and by typing the VIN number on google I found this forum where the first owner Ralph Spears was looking for information on his first corvette.
Of course I contacted Ralph and we have been talking for 2 years. Ralph was kind enough to send me all the original documents for the car, purchase order, invoice, owner card etc.. and some period photos. I would never be grateful enough for having communicated to me all these documents which crossed the decades...
For nearly 3 years that I have owned this Corvette, I have done a lot of work to restore it. The list is long.. but now I can travel long distances in safety. I attend many car and cafes in my area, maybe 100 miles by week-end. I know that some of you (And I totally understand it..) would have liked this Corvette to stay in the US but know that I take care of it as if it were my child... I love this Corvette and I love America that I had the chance to visit a few times for my work to L.A.
Here is the story of my Corvette that I love..
Thank you Ralph for your help and kindness !
Thank you all for accepting this Frenchy passionate about your cars and your culture...

Welcome to the Forum, Daniel, and congratulations on your nice C3!
How cool that you were looking for original owner’s information at the same time he was trying to track down his old car, and great that he had all the original information to pass on to you.
I do not know of anyone who is disappointed that this 1969 Corvette is now in France. However, I do believe many (or most), Corvette owners are pleased to hear comments like the one you made when you said you will care for it like it was your child. Many owners consider themselves as just the caretaker of their Corvette(s).
Cool work with your videos; especially the ones where you used drones!

Thank's Route99 !!
For the drone it was a very good day, my son come to home with her new DJI Mini 3 Pro , he used it for the first time and we are so happy when we see the result..
My Corvette look good but I must make painted. My goal is to find the Corvette as it was originally, I have already found the 69 hood because actually the hood is from 75 or more, I still have to find the door and the mechanism wiper who was removed by the previous owner but I take my time and I think in 1 or 2 years it will be ok.
