1966 Convertible - Owner
Hello everyone. I've been reading this forum off and on for years and finally decided to register. My car...
...is a 1966 Convertible with both tops.
Not a show car but a well maintained stock C2 that is driven and enjoyed.
I'll admit I've been pretty busy the last several years, restoring the old auto repair shop...
...you see in the background.
(Before)
(After)
I bought the shop to have a place to work on my cars, the Corvette among them. The shop was first constructed in the late 1930's. Should you wish to see more information on my shop restoration, projects and cars:
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=51567
will take you to a rather lengthy thread on Garage Journal with hundreds of before, during and after photos. Fair warning, that thread is 284 pages long, but everyone seems to enjoy it.
From one fellow Corvette enthusiast to another, cheers.

66's rule. Very nice midyear, I love the color and the pipes. Welcome aboard.

Thank you very much everyone. The car is a 327/300, 4 speed, manual steering and brakes and oddly ordered I think with power windows and radio antenna. Right now I have Jerry Rudbeck going through the AM/FM radio to bring it all up to snuff. He was highly recommended by many folks on this forum. Nice Guy.
The shop does show off the car well I believe. Working out there with the Beach Boys on the shop sound system is heaven. Puts me right back in the 60's, a rather pleasant period of my life.

I finally spent a little time buffing and then polishing the old lacquer paint and this how it turned out.
As I said it's far from a show car, but a very nice 10 footer and an excellent 20 footer! The great thing about old paint is you really can't hurt it. If it gets rock chipped just carefully repair it with a little touch up paint and move on. There are other repaired chips so that's just another one. That doesn't mean I don't try to drive with care, but the paint's far from perfect so I'm not afraid of harming it. This car definitely has "patina" which I'm fond of.
Once the AM/FM gets reinstalled I'll add some interior pictures. I'm new to this forum so it's my assumption this is the proper spot to introduce the car. If not please let me know.
