zuendler with 1969 BB
Hello all,
i was reading in this forum since some months, for all the issues i could not find an answer in our german forum.
About me, my name is Markus, 30 years old, and bought my first Vette after long planing and saving money in august last year.
Ok, about the car, i thinks thats what you are more interested in:
It is a ´69 BB, T-Top. Original color was burgundy with saddle tan interieur. The car was located in Lakeland, Florida. The first owner replaced the the original 427 engine somewhen around 1973 with an 454cui from a 1971 Vette. He also put the black hooker sidepipes and the L88 hood on it that time. I guess he wanted to have a (look alike) race car)
The car came originaly without powerbrakes and without powersteering.
In 1975 he sold the car with ~ 70,000mls to the second owner, who was also located in this area. He keept it alive and in original condition until 2008 (33 years!) when he sold it with ~117,000mls to a dealer.
The dealer did a paintjob to it, unfortunately in the similar color maroon. He also added powerprakes and powersteering, new radiator and a Deamon Sixshooter Carb, let it look like an original TriPower.
Then the car was sold to Germany in 2009/10 where i bought it.
I wanted a 68 or a 69 because of the side louvers, and a BB and a T-Top model. There was not much choise here, and this one was in the best condition. Despite the interieur, it was really worn.
So I drove the car until the winter came, spending countless hours in doing repairs and replacing many parts. There were many mistakes done by the dealer who tried to make a fast dollar with the car. I hope i found all of the so far.
Ok, here are some pics:
some weeks after i got it
but inside:
during the Winter i wanted just to repair everything that didn´t work
but it ended in a complete interieur restauration, i took everything apart.
And this is the result, 5.5 cows died for the leather
Engine after some Work and replacing many parts:
The broken, over 30 years old sidepipes replaced by new ones, chromed.
This spring we had a tour with 30 Vettes from our german forum to italy, more than 1000 miles, and the old lady did it quite well.
in the austria alps
And here is a video of that trip:

ok, I hope this is enough for the start

Welcome to the Forum!!!!!!!!! Wow!!!! You've done a superb job bringing her back! She's gorgeous!!!! Personally, I love that Maroon, it was one of my favorite colors on the C2's too. And that new interior!!!!!! Wow again!!!!!! Just beautiful!!! Thank you for restoring and caring for an old Vette!! Congratulations on a job well done. Enjoy the car and the Forums.
Just a suggestion, you might want to add "Germany" to your location in your profile, just so folks know where you are. I was getting ready to Google Karlsruhe until you mentioned Germany in your story.
